Cat Stevens, now known as Yusef Islam, recently gave a via-invitational speech at Harvard, in a main auditorium- which was quite well attended. After gazing briefly out over the audience, he began: "The events we've been experiencing are truly unsettling- less disturbing, perhaps, for those who accept the principle of Impermanence, true... I think it's really true to say, you've built your house from barley rice; green pepper walls and water ice, tables of paper wood; windows of light- and everything emptying into White! Apart and aside from all the disturbing tragedy and commotion, I believe this is true: a sad blue-eyed drummer's rehearsing outside, a black spider dancing, on top of his eye; red-legged chicken stands ready to strike- and everything emptying into White! "I don't know what else to add... to say it's not time to make a change, just relax, and take it easy might be the best advice for some; for others, something different, perhaps..." he concluded, at length.
