Prologue
I was sitting on a park swing, chewing on my nail, when I saw him standing at the riverbank. His bright, emerald green eyes were staring out across the water. A light breeze ruffled his shaggy hair that was as black as raven feathers, which was complimenting his sun-kissed tan skin. As I was staring at his well-toned body, his eyes meet mine.
His eyes widened the slightest bit as his lips came to a perfectly seductive smile. Heat flashed to my cheeks as a sudden wave of embarrassment hit. I dropped my gaze to the worn-out track un-der my feet. As my reddened cheeks paled, I found the nerve to look up. I found him still staring at me with a heart melting smile.
Our eyes meet, and my heart skipped a beat. Under his stare I fidgeted, which caused my swing to flip. As I scrambled to my feet, the guy jogged over. By time he reached me I was able to scramble up to my feet. Being this close to him I noted he was about a foot taller than me, which put him, at around 6”2’.
“You okay?” he said in a thick southern accent that could win the heart of any cowgirl, and her daddy.
“y----yeah” I stuttered which made my blush worse.
He just stood there a second before he offered me his hand and name. “Hey, I’m Parker”
I shook his hand out of habit, but said nothing. My brain locked up the answer as I started stared into his endless green eyes. His stare seemed to intensify as he waited for my name.
After a couple of minutes of wait he asked “and you’re….?” As if leading me to the answer.
Shaking my head, feeling like a complete idiot, I finally dropped my hand and eyes. then fled from the park and the hottest guy I’ve ever met. Smart
Chapter 1
Several weeks after I meet that boy, Parker, I still found myself thinking about him constantly. Something about him was special, but I couldn't put my finger on it. As I replayed our encounter in my memory he looked and sounded normal enough but I keep getting a weird feeling from deep inside that he wasn’t what he appeared.
Maybe he was too perfect? My subconscious supplied. My laugh broke though the silence of my car.
All this was going through my mind when I was on my way to school one Monday morning. When I arrived in the school parking lot, I was running so late that there were hardly any spaces left. By the time I found a spot, that was at the far end of the lot, and parked I had to run to make it to my first period, English
As Mr. Grammer, was in the front on the classroom taking attendance, I silently slipped in to my desk. After getting out Animal Farm, which we were reading for class, Mr. Grammer cleared his throat. Yay, Mr. G must have something to tell the class. I sighed.
“Attention class I have an announcement” Almost the whole class erupted into groans. I frown to myself, everybody was so rude to Mr. G. he was an older guy, who you could tell he broke a few hearts in his day. He was an amazing teacher; kind, trusting, funny, and he always tried to be fair.
“Okay class, come on. We have two new students to welcome.” Mr. G said with his natural smile on his face. He always loved the chance to influence a student, in any way possible.
Then, right on cue, two boys confidently walked into the class. My mouth dropped open and all the air rushed from my lungs, I felt as if I’d been punched. It’s the hottie from the park!
I tried to regroup myself before anyone noticed. I shut my mouth with an audible snap. My heart felt like it was gonna beat right out of my chest. Once I got my breathing under control, Parker’s eyes meet mine and he gave me the same heart melting smile from the park.
Unaware of my mental breakdown, Mr. G said “okay boy, why don’t you tell us your names?”
The one that wasn’t Parker did the talking “Well my name is Gregory, but I prefer being called Greg. This here is my twin, Parker.” He had the same delicious accent as his brother. I could hear every girl in the room sigh, as they melted from his voice.
I pried my eyes off of Parker to look at his brother. It was easy to see they were twins. They both were tall, with the same tan skin, and inky black hair. Parker was more muscular than his brother, but the biggest difference was their eyes. Greg eyes were a stunning, crystal blue that made it feel like you were staring into the ocean.
Zoning back in to the real world I hear Greg finishing “…and we’re from Ohio. That’s it really.” Then he shrugged his shoulder and looked to Mr. Grammer for what they should do next.
“Very good boy, and nice to meet you both. You can go ahead and find a sit.” Then Mr. Gram-mer nodded towards the only empty seats, which were by the back near me.
Both boys nodded to Mr. G then walked to their new seats, Greg took the one beside me. Parker frowned and got the next one over.
As Mr. Grammer started with the day’s lesson, whispers about the new kids filled the air.
The one time I did allow myself to glance over at the twins, Parker was drawing and Greg was looking though some type of comic book. They both seemed so normal. I decided before I could get caught staring, again, I should returned to my worksheet.
When the bell rang out, signaling English had finally ended. The room quickly emptied. Everyone is dying to spread gossip about the lucky new students
With the room empty it became silent. I slowly started to gather my stuff and processed to shove them into my backpack. When I was stood up, my backpack overturned spilling my stuff all over the floor. I let out a big sigh as lowered myself to the floor. Great! It’s already one of those days
